iblinds support
When I run the calibration, the blinds will close fully in one direction and almost fully in the other direction. Then when calibration is complete, I'll open and close the blinds. When is closes this time it will still be about 20-30% open. I can clearly see my neighbors house through the gaps. How do I fix this? I've re-calibrated numerous times, I've pressed open/close in smartthings, adjusted the "brightness" 0 - 100%, I updated the the latest device handler. I can't figure it out. Please help.
update:
I found the configure() proceedure in the device handler. I uncommented it and added the button to my app. I set the configurationValue: [4] to double the torque. That helps a little. I need a higher value. So far I do not see in the code where these values are initially defined.
It sounds like calibration is where you're running into trouble. If the motor isn't able to find the end points correctly during calibration, then it won't open/close correctly during normal use. What size blinds are you using? I assumed you are using the SmatThings hub since you mentioned using the device handler.
When you calibrated, did you have the blinds pulled 3/4 or 7/8 of the way up? We suggest doing that for larger blinds to take some of the load off of the motor during calibration.
I'm using 2.5" blinds 59" W x 48" H. I've raised them to various heights during calibration and tried helping them out by lifting/twisting the blinds as the motor works through calibration. Regardless, during calibration, it is able to close without help, but after calibration it does not come close to closing in either direction.
Could it have something to do this this blinds being cordless for the raising and lowering function? I don't know if that is putting extra weight on the cylinders or something.
The exact blinds I bought at the URL below:
My last post has not been approved by the moderator. I'm guessing because it includes a URL to JCPenny where I bought the blinds:

I am having the same issue with one set of blinds, what was the solution?
I too am having the same problem - by chance has anyone figured it out? I've calibrated repeatedly but my one set of blinds will not close all the way.
